SAVANNAH, Ga. – Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in our area, recognized the 2024 recipients of the Legends, Leaders, and Life Well Lived Award during luncheon at The Landings’ Palmetto Club. The recipients have contributed significantly to their community, inspired others by the difference they have made, and exemplify a life well lived.

The 2024 honorees are:

  • Sr. Margaret Beatty, R.S.M. – Sister Margaret Beatty, better known as Sister Margie, has dedicated her life to serving others, with the last 22 years here in Savannah at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital. She has served in leadership roles in her religious order (the Sisters of Mercy), at St. Joseph’s/Candler and on healthcare boards and community organizations. Throughout her life, she has been a champion for the poor and underserved.
  • Kathy Levitt – Kathy Levitt is a pioneer and has been making a significant impact in our community since her arrival in the 1980s. • Cliff McCurry – Cliff McCurry has shaped the career and lives of many leaders in our community. He has been in the insurance industry for more than 50 years and serves today as the Director of Community Development at Sterling Seacrest Pritchard. An avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, he has shared his talents to make education, economic development, and leadership in our community strong.

“It was an honor to present these three remarkable individuals with the 2024 Legends, Leaders, and Life Well Lived Award”, said Patti Lyons, president of SCI. “Each honoree is truly inspiring. Not only have they made significant contributions to the community but they embody what it means to have a life well lived.
