SAVANNAH, Ga. – Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit dedicated to helping people age successfully, is pleased to announce the 2024 recipients of the Legends, Leaders, and Life Well Lived Award. The recipients have contributed significantly to their community, inspired others by the difference they have made, and exemplify a life well lived.

The 2024 honorees are:

Better known as Sister Margie – this remarkable individual lives her life to serve others. Her current role is as liaison for the Sisters of Mercy and the President & CEO of St. Joseph’s/Candler. Her community involvement is just as impressive including her long-standing work with numerous St. Joseph’s/Candler outreach efforts such as; St. Mary’s Community and Health Centers, the Good Samaritan Clinic, the African-American Health Information and Resource Center, the Georgia Infirmary, SOURCE, Williams Court Apartments, Mercy Housing, the Angels of Mercy Community Volunteer Corps, and numerous others. She has also served on numerous local, not-for-profit community boards and healthcare boards throughout her career.

Kathy Levitt – Kathy Levitt is a dynamo. From the moment she and her late husband, Robert, moved to Savannah in the 1980s she knew she could make an impact. As a Registered Nurse, she knew her medical experience could be leveraged and immediately became involved in the community through the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes. She saw the need to help all women have access to mammograms (including uninsured and underinsured) and became a founding member of St. Joseph’s/ Candler’s SmartWomen Expo and Luncheon, an event that has raised millions of dollars to help provide mammograms across our region. An advocate for history, she has been involved with the Georgia Historical Society including leading as Chairwoman of the Georgia History Festival and as an active member of the Festival’s host committee for over a decade. She has made significant contributions to the Telfair Art Museum and the Jepson Center, served as president of the Savannah Symphony’s Women’s Guild, and now supports the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra.

Cliff McCurry – Cliff McCurry, the Director of Community Development at Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, is not only a business leader, but also a leader in the community focused on giving back to worthy causes that make our community strong. With more than 50 years of commercial insurance brokerage and risk management experience, Cliff has held executive management positions with Seacrest Partners, Willis HRH, HRH, and Jones Hill & Mercer. As an active supporter of his community, Cliff has volunteered his time and talent with numerous organizations, including the University of Georgia Foundation, St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System Foundation, United Community Bank, Communities in Schools/Savannah, Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, Savannah Economic Development Authority, and the Nick Mamalakis Emerging Leader Program at Armstrong State University.
