The Boy Scouts are Making Headlines

Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of local communities by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible and productive society.

Earlier this year, our own Jennifer Abshire was one of several outstanding community members to join the Scouts BSA Coastal Georgia Council Executive Board. Recognizing her commitment to promoting the ideals that have made Scouts BSA one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations, Jennifer now advocates for and lends her expertise to help the development of youth leaders in our community.

Recently, the scouts made headlines for their 2022 Golden Eagle dinner, which serves as a fundraiser for the Boy Scouts of America’s Coastal Georgia Council. Featuring a guest appearance by none other than UGA’s national championship winning quarterback, Stetson Bennett, the full crowd at the Jekyll Island Convention Center was in for quite the treat.
