Coastal Georgia — [February 8, 2026] — Senior Citizens Inc. has been awarded the William Bernard McCloud Community Impact Award from the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation in recognition of the organization’s impact through its Meals on Wheels of Coastal Georgia program.

The award supports the delivery of nutritious meals, wellness checks, and friendly visits to older adults in Glynn County, McIntosh County, and Camden County, helping ensure older adults can remain safely in their homes with dignity and connection.

Meals on Wheels of Coastal Georgia provides more than a meal. Each delivery includes a wellness check and a moment of human connection—often the only personal interaction an older adult may have that day. The William Bernard McCloud Community Impact Award helps strengthen this essential lifeline in coastal communities where the older adult population continues to grow.

“We are deeply honored to receive this award,” said Patti Lyons, President of Senior Citizens Inc. “Support from the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation allows us to continue reaching older adults who rely on these meals not just for nourishment, but for safety, reassurance, and connection.”

Founded in 1959, Senior Citizens Inc. began by delivering 13 sack lunches to homebound older adults. More than six decades and 7 million meals later, the organization continues to build on that legacy of neighbors helping neighbors through Meals on Wheels and other essential aging services across coastal Georgia.

The William Bernard McCloud Community Impact Award reflects the Foundation’s commitment to supporting organizations that strengthen communities and improve quality of life for residents across the region.
