Senior Citizens Inc. Receives $5,000 Grant from International Paper to Support Meals on Wheels
Savannah, GA – Senior Citizens Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit dedicated to helping older adults age successfully, has received a generous $5,000 grant from International Paper to support Meals on Wheels. This funding will help provide hot, nutritious meals and vital wellness checks to homebound seniors throughout coastal Georgia.
“More seniors than ever rely on Meals on Wheels, not just for nourishment, but also for the human connection and safety checks that come with each delivery,” said Patti Lyons, President of Senior Citizens Inc. “Thanks to International Paper’s generosity, we can continue serving our most vulnerable neighbors, ensuring they remain healthy and independent in their own homes.”
International Paper’s commitment to community engagement and sustainability aligns with SCI’s mission to support older adults through essential services like Meals on Wheels, which provides more than 1,800 meals daily across the region.
“We are incredibly grateful for International Paper’s support,” Lyons added. “This funding makes a direct impact on the lives of seniors who depend on us for meals and companionship.”
