WHOSenior Citizens Inc. (SCI), the region’s leading nonprofit dedicated to helping people age successfully, will host its 8th annual Legends, Leaders and Life Well Lived Luncheon. The event will honor three extraordinary individuals who exemplify service, leadership, and the spirit of a life well lived.

WHAT: A celebration honoring SCI’s 65th anniversary and recognizing three 2025 award recipients whose lives reflect meaningful contributions to the Savannah community and beyond. This year’s honorees are:

  • Dr. Otis S. Johnson – Former Savannah mayor, educator, and lifelong advocate for civil rights and equity.

  • Camille O’Neill – A beloved educator and volunteer whose service has shaped generations.

  • John A. White, Sr. – WWII Marine veteran, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, and one of Savannah’s first African-American police officers.

Guests can also participate in Honor a Legend, a tribute opportunity to recognize a personal hero with a $100 donation.

WHY: The luncheon celebrates SCI’s 65 years of service to older adults and honors individuals whose lives reflect leadership, service, and legacy. The event also raises critical funds to support SCI’s programs, including Meals on Wheels, neighborhood centers, caregiver support, and more.
