Savannah, GA – Savannah State University (SSU) recently unveiled its inaugural 40 Under 40 Awards, a prestigious recognition aimed at honoring the achievements of accomplished alumni who have excelled in their respective fields before the age of 40.

SSU’s 40 Under 40 Awards will cover a diverse range of sectors, including business, academia, arts, sciences, and philanthropic service through non-profit work.

SSU’s decision to institute the 40 Under 40 Awards underscores the university’s commitment to acknowledging and applauding the outstanding success stories of its alumni, serving as a source of inspiration for current and future students.

“Savannah State University takes immense pride in the accomplishments of our alumni who continue to shine brightly across diverse fields,” said Alexander. “The launch of our 40 Under 40 Awards is a testament to the unparalleled success stories that have emerged from our institution. As we honor these remarkable individuals, we celebrate not only their achievements but also the profound impact of an SSU education. These awards serve as a beacon of inspiration for current and future Tigers, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing leaders who will leave an indelible mark on the world.”

Honorees must have graduated from SSU and aspire to uphold their core values of collaboration, academic excellence, discovery and innovation, integrity, openness and inclusion and sustainability.
