Savannah State University Extends 40 Under 40 Application Deadline to September 13, 2024

Savannah, GA – Outstanding young Savannah State University (SSU) graduates have a few more weeks to complete their applications for SSU’s inaugural 40 Under 40 Awards.

The University recently extended the application deadline to Sept. 13, 2024, allowing graduates or their friends or family members additional time to notify the university of its alumni’s remarkable achievements.

Nominees will be honored in a number of categories including business, academia, arts, sciences, and philanthropic service through non-profit work. The selection committee will evaluate nominees’ professional accomplishments, leadership qualities, and their impact on their communities.

SSU instituted the 40 Under 40 Awards to applaud the outstanding success stories of its alumni and inspire current and future students. Honorees must have attended SSU and aspire to uphold their core values of collaboration, academic excellence, discovery and innovation, integrity, openness and inclusion and sustainability.

“We’re looking for alumni who epitomize the hallmarks of an SSU education,” said SSU Interim President Cynthia Alexander. “These alumni are making a difference in their fields, in their communities and around the world. They’re continuing the legacy of those who came before them and inspiring a new generation of SSU Tigers who will follow in their footsteps.”

The 40 Under 40 Awards ceremony will be held early next year and promises to be a momentous occasion, bringing together alumni, faculty, students, and the wider community to celebrate the accomplishments of these young achievers.
