Savannah Classical Academy Foundation Announces New Board Appointments

SAVANNAH, Ga. – SCA Foundation – a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to raising and stewarding funds to provide resources for support and enhancement of educational and extracurricular programs for the students of The Savannah Classical Academy Charter School (SCA), Savannah’s only K-12 public charter school, is pleased to announce new appointments to the board of directors.

Appointed as President/Treasurer is Mark V. Smith. Smith is Chief Executive Officer of his family’s water utility business which operates water and wastewater systems throughout Southeast Georgia and is Chairman of the Savannah Convention Center Authority.

Falen O. Cox has been appointed as Secretary of the Board. Cox is a partner at Cox, Rodman and Middleton, LLC, a litigation law firm practicing criminal defense, personal injury and general litigation.

Current Board Member, Joseph L. Herring, Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Covance Inc., has been appointed for an additional term.

David Paddison, President at Sterling Seacrest Pritchard, was appointed in 2022, and continues serving his first term.

Immediate Past Board President, Ted Kleisner, and SCA Foundation Executive Director, Terri O’Neil, will both serve as Ex-Officio members.
