Resilient Middle Georgia Now Under Crisis Line & Safe House and One Safe Place Macon Leadership
Macon, GA – Resilient Middle Georgia (RMG), a trauma-informed initiative dedicated to fostering healing and resilience across Middle Georgia, is excited to announce it will now operate under the leadership of Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia
through its newest initiative, One Safe Place Macon.
RMG has been a strategic partner of One Safe Place Macon since 2021, and this transition marks the next phase of collaboration to better serve children, parents, and communities who have experienced trauma.
Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia, founded in 1978, has a decades-long history of providing comprehensive support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma. As a division of Crisis Line & Safe House, One Safe Place Macon is a family justice center that brings over 20 partner organizations together in a single location to streamline services and support survivors. With RMG joining forces under their umbrella organization, the community will benefit from enhanced trauma-informed training, education, and community-based systems change initiatives.
Resilient Middle Georgia has been a vital resource in the region since its inception in 2019 as part of Resilient Georgia’s statewide pilot program. Its work spans Macon-Bibb, Houston, Pulaski, Wilkinson, Putnam, Baldwin, Monroe, Jones, Crawford, Peach, and
Twiggs counties, helping to build a trauma-informed community and provide critical support to children, families, and individuals impacted by trauma. RMG’s efforts aremade possible through ongoing support from Resilient Georgia and the Pittulloch
Foundation.
As part of this transition, Amanda Juarez, previously RMG’s Project Coordinator, has joined Crisis Line & Safe House full-time as the Resilient Middle Georgia Manager and Community Projects Manager for One Safe Place Macon. Her expanded role will help
ensure a seamless transition and the continued growth of both RMG and One Safe Place Macon’s community outreach efforts.
“This partnership is a natural evolution,” said Sarah Schanck, Director of One Safe Place Macon. “Resilient Middle Georgia has been a trusted partner of ours since 2021 and bringing it fully under our leadership cements our commitment to training,
education, and systems change in Middle Georgia. By combining resources and expertise, we’re ensuring that our community can access the best possible trauma-informed care and prevention programs. We’re excited about the possibilities this will
create for long-term, sustainable change.”
Crisis Line & Safe House Executive Director Jamie Bormann added, “With Resilient Middle Georgia under the guidance of One Safe Place Macon, we’re not just expanding services-we’re creating a more integrated and effective response system. Our
combined work will ensure that survivors and communities have access to coordinated care that addresses both immediate needs and long-term resilience.”
Resilient Middle Georgia also recognizes this transition as a significant step toward long-term sustainability and expansion. “Operating under the umbrella of Crisis Line & Safe House of Central Georgia further strengthens RMG’s ability to launch and sustain
prevention-focused initiatives that strengthen community resilience,” said Amanda Juarez, RMG Manager. “One Safe Place Macon truly embodies the mission and vision of RMG by driving trauma-informed systems change. Together, we are addressing the
needs of our most vulnerable community members while laying the foundation for prevention efforts that not only mitigate the effects of adversity but create lasting change for our families and communities.”
Coalition members and community partners of RMG will still have the same resources and support they currently receive. RMG remains committed to its mission and will continue offering the same level of training, education, and collaborative efforts partners have come to rely on. This transition only strengthens the organization’s ability to expand its reach and impact.
Since its founding, Crisis Line & Safe House has been at the forefront of providing direct services and community-driven solutions. By managing RMG, One Safe Place Macon can now amplify its role in trauma-informed education and capacity building.
