Ellabell, GA – Komar, a global leader in the apparel industry, is partnering with an innovative national employment platform to staff its recently opened distribution center in Ellabell, Ga.

The 760,000-square-foot, LEED-certified, temperature-controlled facility offers clients scalable logistics solutions, expert management, and advanced technology integration. The Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider currently serves clients in the automotive, consumer electronics, apparel, home goods, and building supplies industries.

In partnership with Bus Stop Mamas, a tech platform that is open to all, but geared toward mothers looking for flexible job opportunities, Komar aims to empower local families and stimulate economic growth.

Komar said the Ellabell facility’s multi-shift operations offer attractive options for anyone who needs a flexible work schedule, especially in logistics, customer service, and administrative support. To accommodate the working mom, Komar is offering employment opportunities for as few as five hours a week.

Bus Stop Mamas Founder and President Mary Kay Ziniewicz said offering these kinds of flexible work schedules is important to keep women employed through their childbearing years. She said 86 percent of women have children and 43 percent of them leave the workforce after their first child — a statistic that hasn’t changed in decades. Because women are waiting longer to have children, these women have accumulated knowledge, talent and experience that is then removed from the workforce.

Traditional jobs accommodate single or non-caretaker adults, but Bus Stop Mamas works with employers who offer flexible jobs that can grow as the parent’s caretaking schedule allows. Ziniewicz said 85 percent of Bus Stop Mamas hired stay at the company for more than a year and 65 percent of those hired for part-time work eventually move up to full-time or executive level positions.

In addition to flexible schedules, Komar pays above minimum wage with opportunities for advancement through cross-training and fostering a culture of internal career growth which has led to more than 60 percent of employees staying at Komar for more than five years.

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), who was invited to the recent grand opening of the Ellabell distribution center, said he was excited by the prospect of flexible, high-paying jobs in his congressional district.
