Senior Citizens, Inc. Expands Its Continuum of Care for Older Adults

SAVANNAH, GA – Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce that the DayBreak Center, its new respite care center for older adults, is now open and actively serving clients on Skidaway Island. Located at the Skidaway Island Community Church, DayBreak provides a stimulating, safe, and supportive environment for older adults who have cognitive or physical challenges-and offers critical peace of mind for their caregivers.

With engaging and purposeful activities, warm companionship, and compassionate supervision, the Center is already making a difference in the lives of local families. Clients are welcomed into a program that supports all four pillars of successful aging-engaged mind, active body, a sense of purpose, and community-through evidence-based programming tailored to their unique needs.

“Seeing DayBreak in action has been incredibly rewarding,” said Patti Lyons, President of Senior Citizens, Inc. “It’s a place where older adults can feel engaged, connected, and respected-and where caregivers can take a much-needed break, knowing their loved ones are in good hands.”

A Vital Resource for Families

DayBreak is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., offering a thoughtfully structured day that includes The program is designed for older adults who are not yet ready for full-time adult day health services but need more supervision than a traditional social setting provides.

For family caregivers, DayBreak offers a crucial layer of support-providing time for rest, work, or other responsibilities while knowing their loved one is spending the day in a positive, caring environment.
