APR Celebrates United Way’s Sold-Out Women Who Rule Luncheon with Woman of the Year, Kay Ford!
On Tuesday, March 14th, over 800 people gathered at the Savannah Convention Center to celebrate the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s Annual Women Who Rule Luncheon! Abshire PR’s own Jennifer Abshire and Susan Hancock played a critical role in this year’s event having served on the United Way’s Women Who Rule Committee.
The annual Women Who Rule Luncheon raised over $70,000 for residents across the Coastal Empire in need of dependable transportation. Each year, an average of 2,000 individuals or families in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties receive support from the United Way of the Coastal Empire in the form of gas cards, bus passes, and even minor car repairs thanks to this effort.
This year’s event was especially fun for Abshire PR as we were able to celebrate our longtime friend and receipt of the United Way’s “2023 Woman of the Year”, Kay Ford! Ford is the current Chairman of the BankSouth Advisory Board in the Savannah market and formerly served as the Chief Banking Officer for the bank’s markets throughout the state. She has an incredible background of community service for the Savannah-area and we are so grateful for her contributions to our community! Congratulations on this well deserved honor, Kay!
