Poseidon Spa at the Mansion at Forsyth Park Now Offers Year-Round Discounts for Local Residents

SAVANNAH, Ga. Poseidon Spa, a full-service day spa located within the Mansion at Forsyth Park, now offers special discounts on select services for local residents seven days a week.

 “This is not a limited-time offering,” said Courtney Small, Spa Director at Poseidon Spa. “As of January, we now offer ongoing discounts for area residents as a way to encourage locals to experience our world-class services in the heart of Savannah.”

 Local residents can enjoy a $45 discount on the Poseidon Deep Tissue Massage or the Poseidon Swedish Massage, $35 discount on the Poseidon Signature Scrub, $20 discount on the Spa Manicure/Pedicure Combo and $10 discount on the 50-minute Poseidon Signature Facial. A 22% gratuity will be added to each spa service received.

 Clients must let the spa scheduler know at the time of scheduling that they are an area resident. Local identification will be required upon check-in. During the day of the scheduled spa services, locals may also enjoy the use of the spa’s locker rooms, cardio fitness lounge and swimming pool.   

 Located at 700 Drayton Street on the lower level of the Mansion on Forsyth Park, Poseidon Spa blends historic elegance with contemporary amenities including massage therapy, rejuvenating body treatments, nourishing facials, specialty nail treatments, men’s and women’s locker room facilities with steam showers, and a 24-hour cardio-fitness facility. The spa is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mansion on Forsyth Park Hires Craig Jeffress as Director of Food and Beverage

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Mansion on Forsyth Park, a leading luxury hotel in Savannah, Ga., recently hired Craig Jeffress as the director of Food and Beverage services for both Mansion on Forsyth Park and The Café at Forsyth Park, which is slated to open in early 2010.  

In his new position, Jeffress is responsible for upholding the high culinary standards at both the hotel and the café. He is introducing new entrees, wine selections and signature cocktails to the menus as well as overseeing the day-to-day needs of each establishment. 

With more than 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Jeffress brings a solid base of culinary knowledge and management experience to his new position. Before joining the Mansion, he served as an Operating Partner at Luma on Park restaurant in Winter Park, Fla., where he supervised a staff of 80. Over the years, he also served as General Manager at  Murphy’s Restaurant and Mick’s Restaurant in Atlanta and as dining room manager at the Killer Creek Chophouse in Alpharetta, Ga.

Mansion on Forsyth Park Hires Accomplished Culinary Expert Michael Semancik as Executive Chef

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Mansion on Forsyth Park, a leading luxury hotel in Savannah, Ga., recently hired acclaimed culinary expert Michael Semancik as the property’s Executive Chef. In his new position, Semancik oversees all culinary operations at the AAA Four-Diamond hotel, including the award-winning 700 Drayton restaurant. 

With more than 20 years of experience, Semancik’s resume is dense with achievement, experience and recommendations. Before joining the Mansion, he served as the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director at the elite Cliff House Resort and Spa in Ogunquit, Maine.

Prior to joining the Cliff House in 2006, Semancik served as the Executive Banquet Chef at the private Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta. He also worked with as Executive Chef at Blue Ribbon Bakery in New York, at Rathbun’s Restaurant in Atlanta and Mike’s on the Avenue in New Orleans. A graduate of Georgia State University and the Delgado Culinary Arts program, also took a year to study art and design in New York City, making his dishes as artful as they are delicious.
