The City of Richmond Hill recently announced it has hired Dawnne Greene to serve as city clerk. In that role, she will manage administrative and office operations, assist with finance and budget responsibilities, maintain all official City documents, and assist in the preparation of ordinances, proclamations, resolutions and various policies. She will also serve as election superintendent for the City of Richmond Hill.

Chris Lovell, city manager of Richmond Hill, and City Council members John Fesperman, Jr., Johnny A. Murphy, and Russ Carpenter were all recognized by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) at the GMA Mayors’ Day Awards Luncheon last Sunday.

Marking an intermediate point in construction, JE Dunn Construction held a topping out ceremony for the new Juliette Low Elementary School being built at 15 Blue Ridge Avenue. Once completed, the new, 127,000-square-foot brick-veneered building will feature a state-of-the-art media center and wing dedicated for special needs students.

Christy Sherman, executive director of the Richmond Hill Convention & Visitors Bureau, recently attended the Capitol for “Tourism, Hospitality and Arts Day,” along with other representatives from the Georgia tourism industry. Attendees presented Governor Nathan Deal with a check demonstrating the $3 billion in state tax revenue generated from tourism-related expenditures for the year.

Alba Currnette has been hired as a designer for award-winning John Davis Florist. In that role, she will coordinate floral design for all occasions, including weddings, sympathy, bar/bat mitzvah, birthdays, and more.

Currnette has worked for more than 20 years in the floral industry, handling wedding design and coordination, as well as floral office management.
