Junior Achievement of Georgia Welcomes Robert Grant as Director of Development

SAVANNAH, Ga.-  Junior Achievement of Georgia (JA), a nonprofit organization helping to bridge the gap between businesses and youth education communities, is pleased to welcome Robert Grant as the director of development. In his new role, Grant will develop and implement a strategic plan to raise vital funds for JA in coastal Georgia.

Grant comes to JA with an extensive background in education and business development, and most recently served as the director of business development for Leggett Eldridge & Company Certified Public Accountants. His specific experience related to education includes serving as an elected school board member for District One for the Effingham County Board of Education; a position as operation coordinator for the Division of Continuing Education at Georgia Southern University; and various teaching roles in Effingham County Schools.

Grant also served as president of the Parent Teacher Organization from 2009-2013 at Marlow Elementary School in Guyton, Ga. A passionate community volunteer, Grant has worked with Backpack Buddies for nearly 10 years and helped to facilitate the group’s efforts to collect, fill and deliver backpacks of food for at-risk youth.

A graduate of Clemson University, Grant earned a B.A. in secondary education, history and geography. He is also a graduate of Leadership Effingham and was awarded the Herb Jones Volunteer of the Year Award in 2012 and the Spirit of Volunteerism Award in 2009 from Effingham YMCA.
