Chef de Cuisine Dusty Grove to Lead Savannah’s Newest Restaurant Edgar’s Proof & Provision Opening June 12

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Edgar’s Proof & Provision, Savannah’s newest bourbon bar and gourmet eatery overlooking historic Liberty Street, is set to open on June 12, 2017 and will be led by renowned Chef de Cuisine Dusty Grove.

Located at the corner of Drayton and Liberty Streets, Edgar’s P&P will be home to an eclectic collection of signature craft cocktails made with the restaurant’s private label bourbon-whiskey Edgar’s Proof, a rotating selection of small-batch brews, intriguing wines, and a robust menu of small plates for breakfast, lunch, and dinner created with in-house made and locally-sourced ingredients.

“In a town renowned for its spirited libations, connoisseurs of a proper cocktail and lovers of small-batch brews will feel right at home at Edgar’s P&P,” said Chef de Cuisine Dusty Grove. “Here, in-house means our ingredients spend more time in the field than on a truck and we wholeheartedly believe the front porch is the best seat on Liberty Street.”

Guests of Edgar’s P&P can choose to dine at the restaurant’s modern-appointed bar, communal eat-in area, or al fresco. The restaurant features an expansive and covered front porch overlooking historic Liberty Street, and patrons also have access to a classic lounge and game area.

Formerly of Pacci Italian Kitchen + Bar, Edgar’s P&P Chef de Cuisine Dusty Grove is a hands-on, self-taught chef who prides himself on creating dishes that are uncomplicated, clean, seasonal and delicious. A Savannah native, Grove’s Southern influences are derived from years spent growing up on the water and family outings at his grandparent’s house in Vernonburg, Ga., where crab boils and oyster roasts were a regular routine.

After studying biochemistry at UGA, Grove found his passion for cooking while working for the James Beard award-winning chef, Elizabeth Terry of Elizabeth on 37th, in Savannah. He went on to work in restaurants throughout Florida and Georgia and eventually oversaw multiple private clubs as a corporate chef in the Atlanta area.

In 2008, Grove moved his young family back to Savannah to direct various culinary operations for the Bohemian Hotel, The Mansion at Forsyth Park and Vic's on the River. From 2011 to 2014, he made a name for himself as executive chef at The Landings, one of the largest private clubs in the country before joining the opening team of Pacci Italian Kitchen + Bar. Grove was recently honored as the Coastal Region Georgia Grown Chef 2017 and was also a featured chef at the James Beard Foundation’s Georgia Grown annual event June 2017.

“We’ve been working night and day to develop an incredible menu and that special ambiance we think Savannahians are going to truly appreciate,” said Grove. “We’re looking forward to treating our guests to something new!”

In a town renowned for its spirited libations and tall tales, Edgar’s Proof & Provision offers up an intimate and rustic drinkery on East Liberty Street and treat yourself to good old-fashioned southern hospitality, comfort food, and creative concoctions. Here’s where locals, visitors, and everyone in between escape for hand-crafted or barrel-aged cocktails, delicious wines, and cold brews. Edgar’s P&P serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is located at the corner of Drayton and Liberty Streets at 15 E.
