Georgia Tech

Several years ago, the Savannah campus of Georgia Institute of Technology transitioned from offering traditional engineering degrees to its current mission of acting as a hub for professional education and economic development opportunities through regional partnerships. Such a big change necessitated a public awareness campaign, and school officials called on Abshire PR to help.

Since we’ve been on board with Georgia Tech-Savannah, we’ve assisted with a number of projects, including the launch of the Learning Series, an initiative to help coastal region companies and employees stay current by bringing world-renowned researchers and thinkers to Savannah. We’ve also helped to promote Georgia Tech’s high-tech, cutting-edge professional education courses in supply chain and logistics, mobile apps, leadership, and safety and health, and bring awareness to their unique military to internship training program -- the first in the nation -- and their K-12 initiatives in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) throughout Savannah and the surrounding region.

As this dynamic campus evolves to support the community and its future economic development, we’ve been able to generate nearly $400,000 in ROI since we began working with them in fall 2014. Some highlights include:

  • “Georgia Tech-Savannah Lecture to Focus on Mobile Apps,” Savannah Morning News, September 27, 2014
  • “Georgia Tech, Gulfstream Help Vets Transition,” Savannah Morning News, January 14, 2015
  • “Former Savannah Electric CEO Speaks to Community Leaders About Leadership,” Savannah Tribune, April 15, 2015
