One of the best decisions we have made this year at Abshire PR was to put our office space at ThincSavannah. Not only does our office have a great view overlooking Savannah’s beautiful Ellis Square, but it has also afforded us the opportunity to meet and work with a lot of other great local people and companies that call ThincSavannah home.
Last night was a big night for ThincSavannah, as they celebrated their first anniversary in business as Savannah’s first coworking space. As with any good anniversary, a party was held to celebrate and what a party it turned out to be! Over 200 people showed up throughout the evening to celebrate with us.
One of the highlights of the party was the presentation of the 2011 ThincSavannah Visionary award. Originally conceived by ThincSavannah co-founders Tom Shimada and Ashley Bowersox, the award was created to honor those who have had outstanding past, present or future visions for the Savannah community and the Creative Coast. After accepting online nominations, the field was narrowed to six finalists and an online vote determined Christian Sotille to be the winner of the inaugural award.
Tom and Ashley gave a brief speech prior to presenting the award in which they discussed many highlights of their first year in business. Perhaps most exciting was the revelation that there are now over 35 members in the ThincSavannah community working, growing and thriving together. We at Abshire PR are so happy to be part of that community and invite all small business owners examining options about where to set up shop to come and have a look at what’s going on here.
