SAVANNAH, Ga. – HunterMaclean, a leading law firm in Savannah, Ga., is pleased to welcome attorney Patricia Schminke as the new Law Librarian. Schminke’s focus will include management of the firm’s library and providing critical research to the attorneys at HunterMaclean.
Prior to joining HunterMaclean, Schminke practiced solo for 11 years at the Law Offices of Patricia Simmons Schminke in Baltimore, Md., handling family law, wills, and education law. She later worked as a consultant for the Center for Families, Children and the Courts at the University of Baltimore School of Law.
While in Baltimore, Schminke established and operated a neighborhood legal clinic providing free legal services to the residents of the Hollins-Poppleton community as well as clients and employees of Mercy Southwest Alliance affiliates in areas including family law, landlord-tenant, contracts, and estates and trusts, to name a few. Schminke also instituted educational seminars on important issues such as social security, guardianship and social services at the clinic.
“It is truly exciting becoming part of such an incredible law firm as HunterMaclean,” said Schminke. “I hope that my extensive legal experience and thorough knowledge of research and management skills will be a valued asset to the team.”
Born in New York, Schminke was raised in New Orleans. She later earned a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in Baltimore, Md.; a M.L.S. from the State University of New York in Albany, N.Y.; a B.S. in Education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.; and a Mediation Program Certificate from Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Mass.
